Set along the water on a harbour that used to be a whaling station, this quaint Victorian-era inn is a 10-minute walk from Whitby Abbey and 1 mile from the Whitby Museum.

All 7 simply and distinctly decorated rooms offer harbour views and en suite bathrooms. Some have slanted ceilings and wrought iron or 4-poster beds.

Full English breakfast is complimentary and served inside or on the outdoor seasonal patio. A pub offers a menu of traditional fare at lunchtimes and evenings for an extra charge, and sports viewing is available in the cosy bar area. Live bands perform on Friday and Saturday nights.
